  • Desk receptionist, purchasing supplies, composing

  • Salesmanship: 50 hours

  • Chemical: 80 hours

  • School Procedures: 20 hours

  • Lectures and demonstrations: 75 hours

  • Floor supervision: 100 hours

  • School records, student enrollment, collections,

  • office work: 25 hours

   Total: 600 hours

BARBER STYLIST PROGRAM  REQUIREMENTS / Units of Instruction
Minimum Hours of Theoretical Instruction:

  • History Fundamentals of Barbering 5 hours

  • Elementary Chemistry Relating to Sterilization 25 hours

  • Barber Implements, Shaving, Beard, Haircutting, and Styling 5 hours

  • Male Hairpiece Sales and Service 5 hours

  • Hair Coloring-Tinting, Bleaching, Straigtening 5 hours

  • Hair Structure and Chemicals 75 hours

  • Theory of Massage and Facial Treatment 5 hours

  • Disorders of the Skin, Scalp, and Hair 10 hours

  • Barber Laws, Rules, and Regulations 5 hours

  • Business Management and Salesmenship 10 hours

  • General Review 20 hours

  • Minimum Hours of Practical Instruction:

  • Hair Cutting, Tapered and Long 800 hours

  • Shaving Beard and Mustaches 10 hours

  • Hair Coloring 50 hours

  • Scalp and Hair Treatment, Shampoo, etc. 20 hours

  • Facial Treatments 5 hours

  • Permanent Waxing, Razor Cutting, and Styling 120 hours

  • Hairpieces-fitting (sales and services) 10 hours

  • General Review/Practical Experience 315 hours
